This knife was made from 52100 ball bearing steel. This steel takes a very fine grained edge and has nice retention. This steel has been heat treated to 63HRC. One notable quality of 52100 is its relative toughness when compared to other carbon steels at comparable a hardness. This knife has been left moderately stiff, but is very thin behind the edge for detail work. The handle of this knife is natural micarta with a carbon fiber ferrule that has been shaped into a guard. This handle was shaped like this so the user can have complete control and the guard is there to protect ones hand.
