165x47 Petty

575.00

This knife was forged from wrought iron san mai that was made in my shop. The core steel is 1.2519 german tungsten tool steel which is similar to blue#2. The wrought iron was reclaimed from an antique wagon wheel. You can see how the wrought iron etches so differently from one side to the other due to the extreme differences within its own composition. This knife has a slight convex grind. The handle of this knife is ancient redgum that is several thousand years old. Ancient redgum is quite rare. The wood exhibits a very rich and dark red color, it is nearly black with underlying red tones. The ferrule of this handle is Missouri whitetail deer antler that has been stabilized.

Measurements:

Above Stamp: 2.93mm
Middle: 2.22mm
4cm from tip: 1.71mm
