This knife was forged from 1095 spring steel and differentially hardened using clay on the spine and quenching in a commercial quenchant. I then polished and etched the steel which makes the hamon very prominent. This 1095 spring steel is very pure with 1.0% carbon and just a touch of manganese to help the hardening process. The edge it takes is very fine. The handle is desert ironwood burl and an aerospace carbon fiber ferrule. The spacers are mammoth tooth and copper. This knife has a convex grind.
Out of the handle: 3.25mm
