This knife was made from 1095 spring steel. This steel takes an amazingly fine grain, it is similar to shirogami2. This steel has been heat treated to 63HRC. One benefit to this steel is that it is easily touched up with a leather strop. This knife has a compound S grind, which is a hollow along the middle of the blade which aids in food release. The handle of this knife is premium spalted maple burl with a Missouri whitetail antler ferrule.
