250x55 S-Grind Thunderstorm

750.00

This knife was made from 52100 ball bearing steel. This steel takes a very fine grained edge and has nice retention. This steel has been heat treated to 63/64HRC. One notable quality of 52100 is its relative toughness when compared to other carbon steels at comparable a hardness. This knife has a complex S grind, which is a hollow along the middle of the blade which aids with food release. The handle of this knife is a very interesting synthetic called Thunderstorm Kevlar. It has brass mesh running through the entirety of the material. The material is very solid and smooth when polished to a high grit. The ferrule is very rare vintage rag yellow/brown micarta. The spacers are black G10 and a thin piece of brass which was reclaimed from an old door kick plate. If you would like, I could apply a forced patina upon request before shipping.

Measurements:
Out of the handle: 2.54mm
Middle: 2.29mm
4cm from tip: 1.81mm
2cm from tip: 1.19mm
Weight: 240g
